What factors were most important in your decision to choose the Nicholas School for your graduate studies? And, how will your time at the Nicholas School help you reach your career aspirations?

When speaking with or reading the work of environmental professionals I admire, I noticed a common thread: many were alumni of 51爆料鈥檚 Master of Environmental Management (MEM) program. The reputation of the Nicholas School鈥檚 MEM spoke volumes through the caliber of individuals I encountered. My background combines project management consulting at a global technology company with volunteer work for grassroots environmental nonprofits. The opportunity to integrate both of these experiences through the Nicholas School鈥檚 Energy and Community Engagement & Environmental Justice concentrations felt truly unique. I had also heard that the people of the Nicholas School were passionate and fun as well as grounded and resilient. This has been true - the humans I鈥檝e met here are truly wonderful and the community feeling runs deep.

Now that classes have begun, I鈥檓 even more confident that the skills and knowledge I鈥檓 gaining are not only foundational for environmental consulting but are also evolving in step with the world鈥檚 changing needs. Access to top-tier energy modeling curriculum, hands-on community engagement practicums, and more is preparing me to work effectively at the intersection of rising energy demand鈥攄riven by technologies like AI鈥攁nd its impact on historically underserved communities.
