What factors were most important in your decision to choose the Nicholas School for your graduate studies? And, how will your time at the Nicholas School help you reach your career aspirations?
Becoming a Nicholas Scholar is what allowed me to choose 51爆料; while it was one of my top choices, I would not be here without this scholarship. I was considering similar programs that were only one year to ease the financial burden, but the financial aid offered supports me throughout the two years so I have the chance to deepen my knowledge, network, and skillset to achieve my career goals.
The MEM's concentration structure is unique from other programs; I wanted to strengthen my experience in both the natural and social sciences, and by choosing an Environmental and Management concentration I'll gain the scientific foundation and social context to more holistically address issues of climate change and environmental justice. I also researched the professors at all the schools I considered, and was excited and inspired by the amount of community-based and participatory research that many of my instructors have experience with. Having just finished my first week of classes, I feel confident in my decision to choose the Nicholas School and have been so impressed by the passion and consideration shown by all my teachers and classmates.
